~ Serving the Space Coast in Brevard County Florida for Over 35 Years! ~ |
Pam Peach is a Mother of 5, Grandmother of 2 (both of which she delivered), and loving Wife to John Peach. She is also the longest Licensed Direct Entry Midwife in Brevard County FL and along with her extensive list of accomplishments Pam is proud to be counted as the Preceptor (teacher) for every direct entry Midwife working in Brevard County today as well as the Midwife for most of these now licensed women. |
Pam embarked on her life as a guardian of birth in 1973 when she witnessed her first home birth. For her there was no turning back from her journey as a traditionally trained midwife. Her drive was always to help the women she met who wanted home birth with all the alternative methods that she trained in. Pam began her studies and eventually received several certifications and licenses that furthered her training in the arts of natural healing. Through her extensive studies she became a Master Herbalist, a Certified Aromatherapy Specialist and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Along with her widespread training as a Lay Midwife in 1984 Pam went to the Maternidad La Luz birth center in El Paso Texas to participate in the Midwifery training program. At the time Midwifery was illegal in the state of Florida where she lived full time. In 1992 Florida Law was changed to legalize licensing for Direct Entry Midwives and Pam began working toward licensure. In 1996 Pam was accepted to and graduated from the first degreed program in Florida of Direct Entry Midwifery at Miami Dade College. |
